Wordless Wedne... Um Thursday.

OK fine, I am just too darn tired to actually write a whole bunch tonight. I just got back from a block party meeting. Which means that, YES, I am finally making some friends in our new neighbourhood! For both me and the kids! And I can't wait for the party! It is going to be so much fun! {Okay, THAT is a whole lot of exclamation points. I MAY have had some wine at the meeting.}

Today was spent at the Edmonton Fringe Festival with my sister and her kids, and although it was an overcast day, the cousins all had a blast together!!

Our favourite street performers where the incredibly fun and cute twin sister act, The Kif-Kif Sisters from Quebec City. My favourite part of the act may have been the giant balloon boobies, but the kids loved when the sisters actually started to put their whole bodies INSIDE the balloons!

And then of course you have THESE two little toddler upstagers, totally trying to steal the show from the performers on the stage! They were even taking bows when the crowd was clapping. I was somewhat embarrassed, but also kind of proud of their first street performance as well!

And I got to hang out with my favourite little man who is growing so fast and just LOVES to talk to himself when we are taking self-portraits!

It was a good {long} day and again, I am going to aim to get to bed before midnight tonight.

Till tomorrow Mamas!

Natasha~

A few things I am trying this month...

Ok, I lied. I do have one goal for the next few months. I really want to get to my goal weight.

I know, not very original right. But I have given myself some incentive...

Once I have reached that elusive 135 pounds, I am going to reward myself with something big and beautiful.

I want a new tattoo!!

To help me get there I am giving up a few of my favourite things...

No more milk, cheese or wheat products for this girl.

This is hard for me to do, because I LOVE cheese!! (And already today, I had to spit a piece of Little C's cheese string out because I popped it in my mouth without even thinking.)

I am going with a 6 small meals a day routine, and drinking LOTS of water. And whoever comes up with the App that reminds me to drink a cup of water every half-hour to hour will be my hero!!

Wish me luck!

...................

And...

As I was scrolling through Instagram pics today, I came across this.

So I am going to give it a go. I really do love taking pics with my iPhone and have become somewhat of an Instagram addict. The ever fabulous Schmutzie calls it Phoneography and she has made it an art form! I hope to be as talented at it as she is one day (and perhaps even a fraction as cool as her)!

Since I started a day late, you get two photos today.

1. Me!

Self portrait while sitting in car with 2 sleeping kids.

2. Breakfast. Since I am working on trying to eat 6 small meals a day, this is technically meal #2.

Visalus protein shake with mango and water.

Won't you join me in this fun little challenge?

You can post on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, your own blog, whatever you want. Read all the details here on Fat Mum Slim's site and remember to use the #JANphotoaday hashtag if you are posting too Twitter.

Until tomorrow my lovelies!

Natasha~

Me and my camera getting to know each other better.

I have a fabulous new friend.  Her name is Linda Patterson of Timeless Edge Photography and she is great!  Not only does she take amazing pictures (have you seen my new avatar?), she is my new photography mentor.  She is also the kind of photographer who makes photo shoots fun, never goes for the canned shot and truly loves what she does.  And she gets goosebumps when she gets "THE" shot! Every time I am with her, she gives me little bits of advice and tips about how to improve my picture taking.  Like did you know that you can use a tissue over your flash to give that diffused light look?  Or how about the "S-curve"? That oh-so-flattering way that movie actresses and supermodels always stand when getting pictures taken on the red carpet.  Or the one that has made the biggest difference for me is placement of your subject in the picture. Never in the middle, always in the upper or lower corners of your view frame.

So that being said, here is a sampling of my 'work' lately behind the camera.  A few nature shots in my mom's garden and a couple of shots of my little muses.  What do you think?

Say cheese, Natasha~
